Yes.  Adverse action letters that are personalized to your company & applicant are available on our website once you’ve registered to use our service, or we can send them for you. You can download a blank adverse action letter in the Forms & Downloads section of our website.  Click here

Background Searches & Reports

How long does it take to get results from a background check?

Some searches can be retrieved instantly.  The majority of searches are completed within 24 hours and usually in less than 48 hours.

Where does the information come from?

We obtain information from multiple sources including state, federal, and county courts.

What is the coverage area for a multi-state search?

We have one of the largest databases with over 630 million records including the Medical Sanctions List from the Office of the Inspector General, the SSN Validation and Death Master File from the Social Security Administration, all Patriot Act Data, Sexual Offender Registries from all 50 states and hundreds of other valuable resources.

Do I need a release to do a background check?

In most situations, a release for criminal background checks is not required. However, in some states, a release is required for all background investigations. Generally, an employment or rental application will suffice as a release. A release is always needed for credit reports.

How do I get credit reports?

The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) requires that all individuals sign a consent form before we are able to obtain a credit report. Atlas is required to maintain a copy of the signed document for auditing purposes. Once we have received a faxed or emailed copy of the signed release, we can then complete the request for a credit report. Click here
